Produced water can ruin soil for generations if it spills or leaks in storage or transportation. The spill can contain any number of nearly 1,600 chemicals that are known to be used in industrial processes. Chemicals ranging from ethylene glycol (antifreeze) to hydrochloric acid are often dealt with in industrial water treatment. </span></span></p>								</div>
